Fifth Place Tie is Sonartec’s 52nd Top-10 Finish in 2005
Carlsbad, California – September 20, 2005; Sonartec congratulates the fifth place finisher at last week’s 84 Lumber Classic. A long-time Sonartec advocate, the fifth place finisher played the same 19 degree Md hybrid transition club he has carried for most of the last two seasons as he rode the momentum of a second-round 65 to his best finish of the 2005 season. He was one of nine players to put 11 Md’s in play at the event, making the Md the second most-played hybrid for the 33rd time in 39 PGA Tour events.
"The popularity of the Md with the best players in the world has only grown since the 2004 British Open Championship as they continue to discover how easy it is to play, and how versatile it is from just about anywhere on the golf course," said Sonartec Vice President Jim Uno. "We congratulate the fifth place finisher on his best finish of the year, and thank him for continuing to play the Md."
Designed as a replacement for long irons, the Md has gained remarkable notoriety both on PGA Tour and in the marketplace as a reliable, easy-to-use weapon for golfers of all skill levels. In addition to earning four #1 hybrid club counts on the PGA Tour in 2005, the Md has also won several awards, including being named "Tester’s Top Choice" by Golf Magazine, "Best In Test" by Golf World in the UK and "Highly Recommended Hybrid" by Golf Digest. The Md is available in six lofts to replace 3-wood to 5 irons and comes standard with the UST iRoD Hybrid shaft.
