Kiawah Island, SC – Kiawah Island Golf Resort has appointed Roger Warren as its new president. Warren will oversee The Sanctuary hotel and spa, Kiawah’s 600 villa and home rental program, The Ocean Course, Osprey Point Golf Course, Turtle Point Golf Course, Cougar Point Golf Course, Oak Point Golf Course, and all other resort operations.
"Roger is a highly respected and nationally recognized leader, and his vision for the resort reflects the exceptionally high standards that our board has established," says William H. Goodwin, Jr., Chairman of the Board of Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
Warren, who is currently President of the PGA of America, most recently served as co-acting general manager and director of golf of the resort. He will continue to manage the resort’s golf program, which will host the 2007 Senior PGA and 2012 PGA championships on Pete Dye’s famed Ocean Course.
"I’m tremendously honored for this opportunity, and I thank Mr. Goodwin, his family and the board for the faith they have shown in me," says Warren, who resides on Kiawah. "My goal is to make Kiawah Island Golf Resort the best resort in America, and continue to deliver the excellence for which we have become renowned."
Glenn Dozier, who along with Warren served as the resort’s co-acting general manager, will become the resort’s executive vice president.
Kiawah Island Golf Resort is located 21 miles from Charleston and lies along 10 miles of pristine coastline. In August 2004, the resort added The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island, a 255-room ultra-luxurious oceanfront hotel and spa, to its rental pool of 600 private villas and luxury homes. The resort is also renowned for five championship golf courses, the nation’s number-one ranked tennis program, and a wide variety of recreational activities and dining options.
