The Georgia-Pacific Grand Champions Championship became another showcase for Balance-Certified Golf, Inc.’s Pro-Balance system as two players placed in the top ten in this storied event. Bruce Summerhays had his best finish of the year with his second place finish in the event. Summerhays’ performance moved him into the number two money position on the Grand Champions Tour in which players over 60 years old compete in conjunction with standard Champions Tour events. Another player using the Pro-Balance system on board his putter tied for 8th place. This marks the second week in a row that Balance-Certified Golf has had winners and top ten finishes on one or more of the Tours.
Tour Rep and VP of Sales John Cranston said, "It is nice to see players of all ages taking advantage of our system on the Tours. From the Champions, to the Nationwide, PGA, LPGA, as well as the Grand Champions, it is safe to say, we have the widest use at all levels of professional play of any new (under 5 year old) company in the industry. Balance-Certified is THE standard on all Tours."
Balance-Certified’s President Jeff Lindner has been leading the research team while VP John Cranston has been bringing the company’s technologies to the Tours since 1999. Both former NASA research and design engineers, their specialty in structural dynamics and composites give them insights into the motion, frequency, and vibrations of golf equipment that is completely new to the golf equipment industry. "We are interested in performance and enhancing performance," said President Lindner. Cranston added, "All I know is that the Tour players sure can feel a difference when using our systems and they have the checks to prove it."
Lindner noted, "What makes our product so attractive to both the small shop or independent teacher is the low buy-in cost for the fitting system and inventory. They can usually recover their initial investment with just a few fittings. Our customer satisfaction runs higher than 90% so we know we are making a difference in the performance of golfers at all levels. And our sell-through is usually measured in weeks or days, not quarters or seasons. Obviously, that is very important in today’s highly competitive marketplace."
Balance-Certified’s technologies were significant enough to earn them top honors at this year’s PGA Merchandising Show. On January 29, 2005, the company was awarded the International Network of Golf’s (ING’s) Industry Honors Awards in the Product Ingenuity — Emerging Company category at the Show in Orlando, Florida. Balance-Certified joined industry giants like Nike Golf and Taylor Made who won in other categories.
