He joined Honours Golf in September 2000 as food and beverage director for the highly acclaimed World Golf Village golf facility. In his role, he oversaw the entire food and beverage and catering operations for the 36-hole resort golf facility. Later he was promoted to club manager for the 4 ½ star Golf Digest -rated, Rock Creek Golf Club in Fairhope, Alabama.
"Gregory’s expertise in private clubs and food and beverage operations, make him the ideal person for this position," stated CEO of Honours Golf, Bob Barrett. "As we move forward in taking the Club private, Gregory will play an integral role in developing the membership along with the food and beverage operations. We’re thrilled to have him lead the Moore’s Mill team."
Moore’s Mill Club is located in a residential development on the former site of a mill named for one of East Alabama’s earliest settlers and millwrights, Spencer Moore. It features an 18-hole, championship course stretching almost 7,000 yards throughout the rolling terrain and dense hardwoods native to Eastern Alabama. Designed by Day-Blalock Design team, it incorporates the Moore’s Mill Creek into 13 holes along with remnants of the mill on hole No. 8. The layout is versatile, offering just enough challenge for advanced golfers while remaining player friendly for novice golfers.
At the heart of the Club is the Moore’s Mill Clubhouse. The clubhouse exudes a warm, friendly ambiance in a contemporary setting. It is inclusive with a restaurant, lounge, full service bar, private dining area, locker rooms, golf shop, club storage and meeting space with high-tech audiovisual equipment. Other Club amenities include an outdoor pavilion, swimming pool (complete with bathhouse, cabana and grill) and a 15,000 square foot, state-of-the-art fitness center. Soft-surface tennis courts and an Endless Pool facility (primarily for adults and private functions) are currently under development. This progressive, semi-private club is owned by brothers, Billy and Jimmy Cleveland and plans to go private January 2006.
A myriad of memberships are available for Moore’s Mill Club. For general and membership information call (334) 826-8989 or visit www.mooresmillclub.com.
