The LPGA is looking for a talented communications and marketing professional to produce engaging content to build awareness for the LPGA Foundation brands by inspiring our membership/groups to play and follow women’s golf at every touchpoint. Our members range from juniors to young, female amateur golfers to women executive golfers. The person in this role needs to understand video production, social media and digital marketing. This person must also be a gifted storyteller with a passion for showcasing golfs power to transform lives.
The Content Producer works closely with the Director, Integrated Communications to articulate that the LPGA is so much more than just a tour. Focused on elevating the LPGA Foundation Growth Brands and delivering value for members and sponsors, the role will work within the organization to create original content for social platforms. This person will be responsible for conceptualizing, creating and distributing impactful stories that drive engagements and conversations around all LPGA Foundation channels. This position is based at LPGA headquarters in Daytona Beach, Florida with frequent travel required.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Serve as brand advocate for LPGA Foundation Growth Brands, which include but are not limited to LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, LPGA Amateurs Association, LPGA Womens Network and the LPGA Professionals
- Develop engaging and dynamic content for all LPGA Growth Brands related digital and social platforms to grow fans and drive engagement with the LPGA as a whole
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Bridge storytelling between the Foundation and LPGA Tour to achieve messaging goals while serving as key Growth Brands contact working with tournament teams, broadcasting/GC, Communications and Social, Players, Partnerships and external media
- Work with LPGAs Marketing, Brand and Communications teams to achieve integrated engagement goals, optimize content and maintain consistency of brand voice across channels
- Serve as producer working with Creative Team and freelancers to coordinate and execute content shoots onsite at tournament events and activations
- Assist in developing and executing distribution strategies of content across multiple LPGA platforms
- Write and distribute press releases for the Foundation brands to support key announcements, awards, grants and events
- Support Partnerships team with fulfillment of contractual content commitments
- Based on current research, emerging trends and best practices, recommend changes and optimizations to continually improve message content, creative, user experience and digital engagement
- Drive community engagement by leading social listening efforts to ensure a rapid response to emerging trends/opportunities
- Track content performance and monitor consumer feedback and generate insight reports to inform or adjust programming decisions
- Support key initiatives and special projects for the LPGA as assigned (Annual Reports, Awards announcements, etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Sports Media or related field required
- 4-6 years’ sports industry experience; golf background desirable
- Prior experience maintaining a brand, team or other professional social media account
- Audience growth minded fueled by a passion for creating engaging short form content
- 4+ years of editing skills and graphic design (experience with Adobe Creative Suite and other video editing software, preferably Final Cut Pro)
- Wordsmith and powerful communicator gifted at crafting and editing impactful stories
- Displays and in-depth knowledge of social media trends and best practices in the sports industry, and well versed in social metrics and analytics
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills
- Solid news judgement
- High energy, self-motivated professional who loves contributing to a winning team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications
