Arranging a day’s golf has never been easier, thanks to an innovative service set up by the Leaderboard Group.
The group, which owns four high-class golf courses and a golf centre in the south of England, is poised to launch an online concierge service which will cater for golfers’ needs at all four of its clubs.
That means visitors to Chart Hills in Kent, The Oxfordshire, Dale Hill in East Sussex and Sandford Springs in Hampshire can have their corporate days or personal golf days mapped out for them purely by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
The hi-tech service offers golfers the chance to book such things as golf at any of the four Leaderboard courses, specific food requirements, buggy hire, golf coaching, first tee photography, and even arrange after-dinner speakers.
David Walls, director of sales and marketing for the Leaderboard Group, said: "As far as we are concerned, it’s the first time that people have had the chance to book everything online that they would need for a great golfing day out – and we mean everything."
The concierge is a state-of-the-art data controller, with e-mail and SMS text messaging being the two principal means of communication, and one e-mail address will open up myriad services and options for the visitor and, more importantly, give any potential client – either personal or corporate – one constant contact who will ensure all of their golfing needs are met, before during and after golf.
Other benefits of using the concierge service include arranging pick ups to and from the four Leaderboard courses, booking hotel accommodation at Dale Hill, ordering golf day trophies, and making bookings from overseas.
Walls added: "Leaderboard Group chairman Paul Gibbons came up with the idea of a concierge service after seeing it work so successfully not just in his four-star hotel but many others. My job, and that of the marketing team within the Leaderboard Group, was to transfer the hotel concept into golf.
"After much thought and several meetings, we discovered it was easy! The answer is to provide the full service, leave nothing to chance. Simply set up a system that provides an easy-to-use service which people have confidence in and which means no part of the successful Leaderboard golfing experience is left to our guests, except actually playing golf – that bit we can’t do!"
