Only Mizuno Could Create Irons With This Much Game Improvement Technology, And Make Them Look This Good
Norcross, GA (October 1, 2005) – Mizuno, the industry leader in golf innovation, introduces the
MX-900â?¢, the most technologically advanced Game Improvement irons in the company’s history. The Mizuno Design Team challenged itself to create the highest level of Game Improvement irons in the industry, and as a result they created the MX-900, the world’s first, and only, Grain Flow Forged Hybrid iron set. Not only is this Mizuno’s most Hi-Tech iron, but it also delivers unbelievable Game Improvement performance for the mid to high handicappers.
The Mizuno Product Development Team takes forgiveness and ease of launch to a new level with the MX-900. They were able to accomplish this in the 3-7 irons through a forged face and neck utilizing Hollow Technology, as well as Mizuno’s breakthrough Hybrid H.E.M.I. (High Energy Mass Impact) COG technology. The new Hybrid H.E.M.I. COG technology in these irons (3-7) utilize a 12 gram Tungsten weight that positions the COG low and deep for maximum energy transfer resulting in increased distance and forgiveness. Also, two piece hollow technology head construction (3-7) utilizing a CNC milled face with plasma welding ensures precise COG placement in each iron, and a CORTECHâ?¢ face design utilizes three distinct face thickness areas to deliver consistent distance control and feel. When players get down to the scoring irons (8-PW) they experience a one piece Grain Flow Forging which utilizes a solid power bar design delivering solid feel with maximum control and accuracy.
"At Mizuno, we are constantly improving upon technology that enhances performance on the course," said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager, Mizuno USA Golf Division. "This new Hybrid H.E.M.I COG technology along with Hollow Technology head construction used in the MX-900 long irons allowed us to accomplish goals, such as move the COG lower and deeper, and create a huge sweet area with a high, easy launch, that simply wouldn’t be possible with other design technologies. And the one-piece forged club heads with Power Bar design in the scoring irons provide pinpoint control and accuracy that you wouldn’t normally expect from a game improvement iron."
In addition to the multiple technologies, the MX-900â?¢ features a super forgiving, ultra wide sole to increase ease of launch and deliver consistent ball striking ability from all types of lies. The MX-900s are double nickel chrome plated for an elegant appearance and increased durability, and deep
U-grooves produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions.
"The MX-900s will give golfers instant confidence from the moment they look down at the club at address," said Lyons. "With their thicker top line and extra wide, forgiving sole, and the knowledge that you have multiple cutting edge technologies working for you, you just know you’re going to get the ball up in the air quickly and effortlessly. But not only are the MX-900s easy to hit, they are extremely forgiving on mis-hits. The MX-900 irons will not only improve your game, but also make the game more enjoyable."
The MX-900 will be offered with True Temper® Dynalite Gold® Super Lite shafts (R300,S300) standard in steel and Mizuno’s Exsar IS2 shafts (regular, stiff) standard in graphite. Also standard on the MX-900 will be the Golf Pride® Tour Velvet 58 Round grip. The suggested retail price for a set (3-PW) of MX-900 irons is $1,264.00 (steel) and $1,408.00 (graphite).
