(LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 5, 2005) – The Professional CLUBMAKERS’ Society (PCS) has awarded the PCS Seal of Acceptance to Zelocity Corporation, Scottsdale, Ariz. The company’s Pure Launch ball-flight monitor fulfilled its product claims when tested at the PCS Technical Workshop.
The PCS initiated the PCS Seal of Acceptance in 2005 to determine whether clubmaking supplies and equipment perform according to advertising and marketing information. The PCS technical staff, led by Executive Technical Director Bob Dodds, conducts a testing process that judges the clubmaking supplies or equipment against its product literature. Those performing as advertised and marketed receive the PCS Seal of Acceptance.
PCS does not warrant or recommend products receiving the PCS Seal of Acceptance. As the only independent society of professional golf clubmakers, it provides this information in the interest of its members and the public. The PCS Seal of Acceptance testing process is a controlled effort designed to achieve an objective determination.
During several tests, the Pure Launch provided club speed, ball speed, launch angle, carry distance, backspin, and power transfer ratio (ball speed divided by club speed), as advertised. Further, it is portable, easy to set up, and connects to a laptop computer for fast access to data.
Additional supplies and equipment are under review at the PCS Technical Workshop. For more information on submitting clubmaking supplies or equipment for testing, please contact Business Affairs Director, Kim Pappas 800-548-6094 or kim@proclubmakers.org.
The PCS, an independent professional society of more than 1,100 clubmakers, is the largest independent professional association of golf clubmakers in the world. It offers three certification exams that combine a written portion with a hands-on skills test, which is the most rigorous, continually updated certification process in the clubmaking industry. PCS members pledge adherence to a strict Code of Ethics that prohibits knowingly selling or representing counterfeit components or golf clubs. As independent Golf Equipment Professionals®, PCS members can recommend any combination of components that best fit an individual golfer’s swing. PCS members’ expertise provides customers with Tour Fitting for Any Golfer.
PCS offers a full range of member benefits and educational services, which are described in more detail on its website, www.proclubmakers.org.
