St. Augustine, Fla. (October 24, 2005) – The Northern Chapter of the North Florida PGA will offer FREE LESSON DAY to benefit the Katrina Relief Effort Tuesday, November 1st from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the TPC at Sawgrass’ Stadium Course Driving Range. FREE LESSON DAY will allow guests to donate to the Katrina Relief Effort and then enjoy learning golf tips in 15-minute intervals from a selection of PGA Professionals.
The day is open to all levels of golfers and will offer instruction from PGA Professionals including Jon Fine (Windy Harbor), Jim Poole (TPC at Sawgrass), Ray Barr (Jacksonville Golf & Country Club), Todd Bork (San Jose), Richie Bryant (Pablo Creek), Steve Hanlon (Eagle Harbor), Wes Tucker (St. Johns County), Chris Debusk (Ravines), Jim Huston (North Hampton), John Upton (Palencia), Cathy Harbin (World Golf Village), Tim Peterson (Selva Marina), Jim Lear (The Champions Club), Robert Dugger (Amelia Island Plantation), Johnny Randolph (Glen Kernan), David Cook (ATIP), Don Simpson (Magnolia Point), Graeme Oliver, Tom Stecker (St. Johns County), Cooper Osborne (Anne Cain Golf Academy), Kirk Jones (Windsor Parke) and many more. In addition, Champions Tour player and Ponte Vedra Beach resident Bill Kratzert will be on-site to assist with instruction. The professionals will be fixing slices, hooks, tops and pops.
"This day will have many fun elements to it, but is ultimately organized to help Hurricane Katrina victims," said Cathy Harbin, General Manager of King & Bear and Slammer & Squire at World Golf Village. "We hope that the community will come out and enjoy what the professionals have to offer them in improving their golf game, but will also give to this worthy cause."
