In an ending worthy of a Disney script, Lucas Glover earned his first career PGA Tour victory, culminating with dramatic birdies on the final two holes at the FUNAI Classic at Walt Disney World Resort. It proved to be a Titleist 1-2 tee-to-green finish when Glover drained a 40-foot putt from the fringe on the 71st hole and converted a 35-foot bunker shot on the final hole to edge Tom Pernice, Jr.
Glover closed with a 7-under 65 to finish the week at 23-under 265. The 25 year-old was among 10 players with a chance to win over the final four holes. Titleist full-line staff player and defending champion, Ryan Palmer, finished in a five-way tie for third that included fellow Pro V1x players Harrison Frazar and Geoff Ogilvy.
Titleist topped the golf ball count with 97 players, more than six times the nearest competitor with 16. Titleist was also the top choice of players in the iron (27), utility iron (3-tie), wedge (136) and putter (54) categories. This was the 24th win for Titleist golf ball players on the 2005 PGA TOUR, more than all competitors combined.
