Atlanta – Executives for Children (E4C), an organization comprised of approximately 120 Atlanta-area business leaders who volunteer to raise funds for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta surrounding the PGA TOUR’s BellSouth Classic, kicked off the 2006 sales campaign at a event held at BellSouth at Lenox Park.
E4C raises funds through the sale of ticket packages, pro-am spots, hospitality and advertising for the PGA TOUR’s BellSouth Classic. All proceeds from the BellSouth Classic are then donated to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
"Last year, the committee raised more than $1.6 million to help the patients and families served by Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta," said Mark Goodson, the 2006 chairman of E4C. "We are excited about this year’s campaign and are looking to add new members to the committee to meet this year’s goal of raising $1.8 for Children’s."
E4C was formed in 1988 as Executives for Egleston by Horace Sibley, then chairman of the board of Egleston Children’s Hospital, and J. L. Jerden of the Atlanta Classic Foundation. Executives for Egleston became E4C after the 1998 merger between Egleston Children’s Hospital and Scottish Rite Medical Center to form Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
