With only the Charles Schwab Cup Championship remaining on the Champions Tour schedule, 13 players still have a mathematical chance to win the Charles Schwab Cup. But Dana Quigley continues to hold a commanding lead. Quigley was the only player in the top five to earn Schwab Cup points last week. Quigley finished fourth at the SBC Championship, and he moved to a 345-point advantage over Hale Irwin and 645 ahead of D.A. Weibring.
With 1,320 points available to the winner, even Morris Hatalsky, in 13th place, with 1,283 total points, could conceivably win, provided he wins the Charles Schwab Cup Championship and nobody ahead of him picks up any points.

Quigley’s caddie has worn the yellow caddie vest, symbolic of the Charles Schwab Cup leader, the last 17 weeks and 19 in all this year. Irwin held the lead the other eight weeks.
The Charles Schwab Cup is a season-long points program designed to recognize the Tour’s leading player. The program rewards both top finishes and week-in/week-out consistency at all 28 official Charles Schwab Cup events. Points are awarded to the top-10 finishers and ties and are based on the money distribution for each tournament, with every $1,000 earned being the equivalent of one Charles Schwab Cup point. Points were doubled at the Champions Tour’s five major championships.
The player with the most points on Sunday will earn a $1-million annuity from Charles Schwab & Co.
The second through fifth-place finishers earn annuities of $500,000, $300,000, $200,000 and $100,000, respectively, from the $2.1 million bonus program.
The previous winners in the competition are Allen Doyle (2001), Hale Irwin (2002 and 2004) and Tom Watson (2003).
