DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The LPGA Teaching and Club Professional (T&CP) Civil Cup, which features LPGA T&CP members is returning this year, but with a touch of expansion to include all five sections that make up the LPGA T&CP membership. In it’s first year, the Civil Cup, which is based on the Solheim Cup, showcased on the Northeast Section and the Southeast Section. This year, the event will be held at PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and the competition will be set up where the East-Northeast and Southeast Sections battle for bragging rights against the West-Central, Midwest and Western Sections. The competition will be held Dec. 10-11 and each team will consist of 24 players for a total of 48 players. Players include Section Presidents, Officers, Coordinators and Captain choices, which usually consist of section tournament winners, and other members involved in the section.

The LPGA T&CP membership was established in 1959 as an outgrowth of the LPGA Tour membership and has enjoyed an unprecedented rate of growth in recent years. The LPGA boasts the largest membership of women golf professionals in the world. With nearly 1,200 members, the LPGA T&CP membership is dedicated to the advancement of golf through teaching, managing golf facilities and coaching. Its member programs include national teaching, entrepreneurial and business skills training programs and conferences; tournaments; employment services; and junior golf programs. LPGA T&CP members also teach and support the LPGA’s various grassroots programs that are vital to the continued growth of the game of golf, including the Ronald McDonald House Charities LPGA Tour Junior Golf Clinics, LPGA-USGA Girls Golf, LPGA Urban Youth Golf Program and the LPGA Golf Clinics for Women.
