Magazine Says Maples, Jones And Byrd Courses Are Among "Best [Myrtle Beach] Has To Offer"
October 14, 2005, Sunset Beach, N.C. — Sea Trail Golf Resort’s Maples, Jones and Byrd signature golf courses are among the best courses that Myrtle Beach offers, according to Golf Digest. The magazine ranked all three Sea Trail courses among the "Top 50 Courses of Myrtle Beach" in its first-ever rating of "the best [Myrtle Beach] has to offer" among the Grand Strand’s 117 golf courses. The Jones Course was ranked number 30; Maples was number 44; and Byrd was number 50.
The rankings are published in the November edition of Golf Digest (now on news stands) and available online at golfdigest.com/myrtle. They are based on the opinions of Golf Digest’s panel of raters, a group of 800-plus low-handicap golfers. These golfers also rate "America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses" and "America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses."
"We are very excited to have our courses recognized among Myrtle Beach’s best by Golf Digest — especially when we have so many fine courses along the Grand Strand, " said Tom Plankers, President of Sea Trail Golf. "Each of Sea Trail’s signature golf courses is exceptional in its own right and we are gratified to have the Golf Digest raters recognize that in their rankings. Taken together, these courses make Sea Trail the perfect spot for a golf vacation. It’s rare to find a resort on the Carolina coast that can offer three top courses and all the other amenities that we offer."
