HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA (October 27, 2005) — West Coast Trends, Inc., makers of the Club Glove, the Number One travel bag on all Tours, today announced that it has been chosen by team captain Tom Lehman to provide staff bags and travel bags for the 2006 U.S. Ryder Cup Team.
Club Glove is continuing a tradition established in 1997 when The Last Bag® was chosen by U.S. Ryder Cup captain, Tom Kite. It has been used by every team thereafter. Hal Sutton, the 2004 U.S. Ryder Cup team captain, also went the extra step and chose the Club Glove Premium Hybrid Billboard Staff Bag as the bag to be used by the team during play. The size, design and balance of the bag were popular with every player and caddy on the team. Unique patented technology which allows users to substitute the bag’s belly and side panels made it possible to change the look of the Ryder Cup staff bags each day – a first ever in Ryder Cup history.
"We are honored and excited to be involved in outfitting the 2006 Ryder Cup Team and we would like to thank captain, Tom Lehman and the PGA of America for this opportunity," said Jeff Herold, President, West Coast Trends, Inc. "The fact that the best players in the world continue to choose Club Glove products is a testament to the design and functionality of our products."
After just a few years on the market, Club Glove’s golf bag line has gained tremendous momentum among amateurs and professionals throughout the United States. During the past two years, Tour Professionals on all Tours have used the Premium Billboard Staff Bag design in tournament play.
In addition to The Last Bag and staff bags, Club Glove is working closely with Tom Lehman in designing the rest of the requested luggage pieces for the 2006 Ryder Cup Team.
