MIAMI – Paul McGinley capped off his 2005 season with a win at the Volvo Masters on Sunday, edging out the best players on the European Tour with a bag full of SST PURE aligned clubs.
McGinley’s final-round 67 on Sunday gave him the Masters title and a record-tying four-round total of 274. "This one means a huge, huge amount to me," he said. "I am proud to have won here, competing against the top 60 players on The European Tour."
After having his entire set of TaylorMade clubs PUREd this year at the NEC Invitational, McGinley finished in the top six in four of his last six events, winning more than â?åÂ1.4 million in that stretch. His boost from SST PUREd clubs rivals that of Retief Goosen, whose win at the International earlier this year coincided with the PUREing of his clubs. All told, players who have had their shafts PUREd this year have won more than $50 million on the PGA Tour in 2005.
