BETHEL, Me. (November 1, 2005) – P3ProSwing, a highly accurate yet versatile swing analyzer and training aid, has won a 2005 Tech Award from Golf Tips Magazine in the category of Training Aid Innovation. Cited for its easy-to-use quality and its design for in-home use, the P3ProSwing, which analyzes swings and provides for simulated rounds using high-tech graphics and sensors, was recognized as a game-improving training aid. The annual GT Tech Awards recognize the latest advancements in golf equipment technology, new product innovations and a commitment to exceeding consumer demands. This honor is the most recent national recognition for P3ProSwing since its arrival on the market two years ago.
"We are very pleased to be recognized with this Tech Award," said Jay Russo, managing director of Bethel, Maine,-based P3ProSwing. "We believe the accuracy and accessibility of our system provides an ideal approach to swing analysis and game improvement for golfers of every ability."
Touted as the most affordable swing analyzer on the market by its founder Leslie B. Otten, P3ProSwing has been lauded at various industry trade and consumer shows across the country and previously earned a "Highly Recommended" rating from Golf Digest magazine. It was featured on the television show "Live with Regis and Kelly" in a segment with avid golfer and celebrity Cheryl Ladd.
The P3ProSwing, which can be used at home with a laptop computer, allows golfers to receive instant feedback with any club and with or without a golf ball. Measurements include club speed, tempo, ball flight, swing plane, club face position (in essence, whether it’s hit the "sweet spot") and distance. Shots may be practiced from any location on the course. Computer graphics show the ball’s flight path and actual landing location, whether in the rough, on the fairway or the green. Players may practice on the putting green or the driving range; the advanced golfer may hone in on draws or fades. The system allows up to a foursome to play a round on the Highlands National Golf Course, a 7,393-yard, 18-hole, par-72 championship golf course.
In addition to direct-to-consumer sales from its Web site, the P3ProSwing is sold through major partners including some of the nation’s largest golf retail groups, including Golfsmith, Pro Golf Discount and Golf Etc. P3ProSwing is a subsidiary of Sports Vision Technologies, which develops new advanced technologies in sports.
