PACOIMA, Calif. — Harrison Sports Inc., a long-time supporter of Long Drive, congratulates two Top 10 finishers in the 2005 Re/Max World Long Drive Championship. Harrison secured the second- and sixth-longest drives at the championship with distances of more than 365 yards.
Power player and well-known Long Drive champion, Danny Luirette, finished a strong second swinging his Harrison Striper Tour shaft for a total distance of 369 yards, 26.5 inches. Coming in sixth, with a total distance of 365 yards, 17.5 inches, Viktor Johansson, proved his prominence in the sport using a Harrison Pro 2.5. Harrison is proud to be a part of the successful careers of both of these great players.
"Harrison shafts have continued to provide great performances consistently throughout the years for many of the Long Drive champions on the tour. We’re excited that fierce competitors such as Luirette and Johansson keep coming back to Harrison, knowing that they can expect to win with our shafts," says Chris Elson, senior executive tour relations manager for Harrison Sports, "We’d like to congratulate them on their excellent finishes at this years WLDC."
The Harrison Striper Tour shaft and Pro 2.5 are two of Harrison’s top winning shafts. The Harrison Striper Tour shaft features a low spin rate, a slightly higher launch angle, and the tightest shot dispersion of any shaft on the pro tour. Striper Tour shafts are available in 60-, 70- and 80-gram weight options with flexes ranging from Senior to Extra-Stiff. The shaft, which gives you the control and power of a steel shaft without the added weight, helps you achieve longer drives with better accuracy, which leads to more balls in the fairway.
The Harrison Pro 2.5 Series has been a favorite in World Long Drive championships. The Pro 2.5 is composed of boron reinforced X-5200 graphite and features a mid-high flex point and only 2.5 degrees of torque. Pro 2.5 XL95 shafts are available in a 95-gram weight option with flexes ranging from Regular to Extra-Stiff.
Harrison shafts are made from the finest in graphite, titanium and boron materials and are a popular and growing choice among golfers on all the pro tours as well as for custom clubmakers and golf enthusiasts everywhere. Their superior quality and excellent performance have made choosing the right shaft easy. Harrison shafts are available from more than 1,000 local dealers throughout the United States.
