Brentwood, Tenn. – Nov. 7, 2005 – The mid-state’s only professional golf event, the Franklin American Mortgage Championship benefiting the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and hosted by Amy Grant and Vince Gill, was recognized on October 17 at the LPGA Tournament Owner’s Association’s annual meeting in Bonita Springs, Fla. for producing outstanding tournament-related materials.
The tournament was honored with a 2005 Golden Driver (first place) award for an event-related newspaper advertisement that featured the LPGA’s Jennifer Rosales. Designed and produced by the ELCOT Golf sales and marketing team, the newspaper advertisement was part of an official media outlet sponsorship.
A Silver Driver (second place) was awarded for the tournament’s daily newsletter which was also produced in-house by the ELCOT Golf sales and marketing team and Critical Impressions, the tournament’s official printing company. Distributed at on-course locations during the four-day event, the newsletter featured scoring recaps, player features, volunteer committee profiles, tournament-related facts and activity schedules.
Brentwood-based ELCOT Golf provided full-service management services for the 2005 LPGA event. The Franklin American Mortgage Championship was one of only a few tournaments that created all promotional materials in-house.
In its fifteenth year, the annual Tournament Sponsors Association’s Gold Driver Awards recognize industry excellence in professional tournament public relations, marketing and promotions.
