OGIO’s design room measures roughly 2000 square feet. But the company’s R&D division has hundreds of experts weighing in regularly on design upgrades for its highly engineered golf bag collection. Because like Amazon, Nordstrom, and Southwest Airlines, OGIO uses customer feedback as a tool to improve its ever-evolving collection.
The company’s 2006 cart bag collection is the embodiment of what customers have been asking for: bags that are fashionably styled, provide exceptional club protection and intelligent pocket design, and deliver seamless functionality.
Anchoring the new line is OGIO’s latest hybrid introduction – the Syncro. This 6.6-lb. bag delivers the look of a performance stand bag combined with the full-featured performance of a pull-cart friendly bag. "This bag was engineered to accommodate the growing crowd of golfers who easily move between walking with pull carts and using electronic carts," explains OGIO Executive Vice President Harlan Gardiner. The Syncro is outfitted with a tuck-away strap pocket plus nine zippered pockets – all of which face forward and are easily accessed from the back of a cart.
From its 9" Woode top, to the EVA molded shaft dividers and full-length club dividers, the Syncro is designed to simplify club access and protection. A zippered rain hood as well as waterproof pockets – including a fleece-lined valuables pocket, a wallet/cell phone pocket, and internal wet/dry zippered pocket – extend protection to golf accessories. The Syncro further packs in OGIO’s molded plastic Ball Silo, an easy access scorecard and pencil pocket, side umbrella sleeve, and a zippered insulated hydration pocket – all at $170.00 MSRP.
The Syncro also sets OGIO’s new color standards with designs available in Wasabe (green), Black, Chiaro, and Fire. "Color is huge for golf bags this year," explains national golf sales manager, Andy Gilkison. "Some of our more progressive color offerings were top sellers last year, with our red palettes closely paralleling black in units sold. We’re predicting that bold colors will outpace black this year, which will be a first in our history."
Harmony is a running theme through the 2006 collection, bolstered in part by the company’s new color-coordinated "Uniter" organizing system. "Why divide when you can unite?" suggests Gilkison. "We realize that rather than divide clubs from one another, we’ve found a way to properly fit them in close proximity so they take up less space yet remain protected. The Uniter delivers on all fronts by allowing golfers to carry up to 15 clubs within a 9.5" space without compromising safety or aesthetic."
OGIO’s Uniter top is available on two 2006 bags: the Atlas (MSRP: $210.00) and the Nitrous ($180.00). The ten-pocket Atlas, available in Fire, Silver, and Indigo, delivers patented features including the Hoode rain hood, the Zipperless Ball Pocket, and the Neoprene Ball Silo. Like its Uniter-top counterpart, the Nitrous stores additional gear with eight pockets (six of which are zippered), a front umbrella containment system, and a front-mounted elastic golf ball holder. The Nitrous is available in Chiaro, Black, Copper, and Moss.
Rounding out the line is the redesigned Amp (MSRP: $120.00), which includes a 9.5" Woode top, full- length dividers, zippered rain hood, and seven pockets including dual zip-off side pockets. The Amp is available in Black, Fire, and Chairo.
OGIO’s New Top Organization System Molded for Performance, Adaptation
OGIO, the recognized pioneer in golf bag technology, is unleashing a new innovation designed to unite clubs in a minimal space without compromising protection. The Uniter top is a single-unit molded system that holds 15 clubs in a variety of customizable configurations.
Like its name implies, the Uniter is everything dividers are not. Unlike criss-crossed fabric wedged in tongue-and-groove construction, the Uniter’s single mold provides a durable foundation to enhance structure and club protection. The top is covered in a soft, protective Nubuck – in complimentary colors – to reduce physical and visual noise. Further protection is delivered courtesy of full- length stitched Uniters that run the length of the bag, providing protection from grip to club head.
"Today’s best technology is incredibly easy to use," explains Andy Gilkison, National Golf Sales Manager. "Think the iPod, jump drives, Blue Tooth. Some of the most complicated innovations have clean lines and no-experience-required simplicity. OGIO’s Uniter top has a clean, quiet design that reflects our pursuit of intelligently engineered gear protection."
OGIO’s new Uniter top will be available on 2006 models including the Nitrous (MSRP: $179.00) and Atlas (MSRP: $209.00) cart bags.
