WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 14, 2005) – GolfStyles Magazine, once known as the No. 1 regional magazine in America, is moving into the realm of the largest golf publications in America. After a year of record-setting growth, more than doubling the circulation of the magazine and increasing coverage to include the entire East Coast, GolfStyles has established itself as a golf publication of national size.
GolfStyles began 10 years ago as Washington Golf Monthly. Two-and-a-half years ago it expanded to include Philadelphia Golf Monthly. In January the names were changed to GolfStyles Washington and GolfStyles Philadelphia. In March, the publication was expanded to include GolfStyles Boston, GolfStyles New Jersey, GolfStyles Ohio and GolfStyles Atlanta.
By year’s end the circulation will have more than doubled to 310,000 for each of its nine issues. That number makes it one of the largest golf publications in the country.
"There is no denying the fact that publishing four more magazines and expanding into four more regions was a very ambitious task," said Michael Keating, publisher of GolfStyles and one of the founders of the magazine more than 10 years ago. "But I think everyone involved will agree that it was a worthwhile effort. We have assembled one of the finest and most creative management teams in the golf industry and our product is both unique and of the highest editorial quality.
"We pride ourselves on the quality of the writing that appears in GolfStyles," continued Keating. "We formed our reputation at Washington Golf Monthly and have carried it to an even higher level throughout the GolfStyles line."
"The reception the magazine has received in the advertising world has been amazing," said Frank Riggins, national sales manager for GolfStyles. "In just a short time we have developed great name recognition throughout the industry. We look for this growth to continue."
A network of regional editors and associate publishers works with the main offices in Washington to produce a magazine that contains both local (to each region) and national stories. When combined with award-winning photography and the highest quality graphics and printing, the final product is one that stands above the majority of golf publications.
