RE/MAX WLDC FINALS GET NEW DATE IN 2006

November 22, 2005

SOUTHLAKE, TEXAS – Long Drivers of America (LDA) today announced the schedule for the finals of the 2006 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, which LDA manages and produces.

The premier event in power golf next year will unfold October 24-28 at the Palms Golf Club in Mesquite, Nevada.

The 2006 dates push RE/MAX championship week in Mesquite back from its traditional slot during the third week of the month.

"Moving the finals to the fourth week in October gives us an additional week to prepare the championship venue," said LDA chief executive Art Selllinger. "As much as the RE/MAX championship has grown in recent years, and as big as championship week has become, we feel the additional prep time is essential."

A 90-minute highlights package from the recently concluded 2005 RE/MAX WLDC finals, which saw Sean (The Beast) Fister win his third world championship and claim the $100,000 first prize, debuts on ESPN on Christmas Day.

The program premieres at 2 p.m. EST.
