GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Upstate division of the Amateur Golf Tour has signed Pro Golf Discount to be the exclusive provider of gift certificates for all Upstate AGT tournaments in 2006.
The top three finishers in all five flights at Amateur Golf Tour events next year will receive their winnings in gift certificates from Pro Golf, located off Haywood Road at Orchard Park Drive.
"We’re really excited about this partnership," said Keith Farrell, manager of Pro Golf Discount. "The Amateur Golf Tour gives people who are not scratch golfers a chance to play competitive golf. Anything that helps grow the game and gives people a reason to play, I think is terrific."
Farrell said his business is built on core golfers, like those that play all season long on the Upstate tour. Golfers who win gift certificates will be able to take advantage of Pro Golf’s Vector Launch Monitor, full-swing simulator, club repair service, plus "the largest selection of clothing clubs, shoes and bags in the Upstate," according to Farrell.
AGT director Larry Lee, who founded the Upstate division of the tour in 2000, anticipates the partnership with Pro Golf Discount will be mutually beneficial.
"We are looking forward to a great partnership that will help us promote the tour and offer advantages for our players," said Lee.
Pro Golf Discount, which opened in 1989, is a family-run business located at 101 Orchard Park Drive in Greenville.
