CARLSBAD, Calif. (November 28, 2005) – BrightStar Golf Group LLC, the Carlsbad, California-based golf course ownership and management firm announced today the appointment of John Scappatura as General Manager and Mike Orren as Superintendent at Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Sacramento.
Whitney Oaks Golf Club is located in Rocklin, California, a suburb of Sacramento in Placer County.
Whitney Oaks is 18-hole championship course that meanders through giant oaks, granite outcroppings and a multitude of wetlands over 160 acres. Five (5) sets of tees present a fair challenge for any level of golfer.
Prior to working at Whitney Oaks Country Club, Scappatura held executive positions for 15 years with American Golf Corporation, including a seven year period where he was a Regional Director overseeing 12 properties in the UK. He most recently was General Manager at Las Vegas National Golf Course. Scappatura has been a PGA (Class A) Member since 1993.
Orren has worked in a variety of golf course construction and superintendent capacities at numerous courses including The Bridges, Meadowlark and Coyote Hills Golf Courses. Orren also has been a longtime member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association.
