Baldwin will run new golf academy at the golf superstore.
Flushing, Mich. (November 29, 2005)—King Par Golf in Flushing, MI has just added PGA Master Golf Professional, Bill Baldwin to its staff. Bill will be responsible for the development and operation of the new King Par Golf Academy.
The new King Par Golf Academy is part of a new plan to update and enhance the teaching facilities and opportunities at King Par, one of Michigan’s largest retail golf shops.
Bill Baird, owner of the King Par Corporation and Orlimar Company, hired Baldwin in an effort to upgrade and draw more customers to his facility, as well as managing and creating a new state of the art teaching facility with instructors.

Bill Baldwin was a club professional at Franklin Hills Country Club for 13 years and has been a professional for 28 years. Bill, a PGA Master Professional, has been voted among the best teacher’s in the State for two years. Bill brings a great deal of teaching experience to King Par. He has worked with many of the top instructors in the country including, Hank Haney, Jim Mclean, Martin Hall, Dave Pelz and others.
"All of my peers were country club professionals at one time: Jim McLean, Hank Haney, Jim Flick and Rick Smith, to name a few," said Bill Baldwin. "I am taking the experience I’ve learned teaching country club members and attending those top instructional schools and incorporating the best of those practices to create a first class instructional facility at King Par."
Bill Baldwin is also an accomplished player with wins in the Michigan, Illinois and South Florida PGA Sections. He has also competed at the National level at the 2003 US Senior Open at Inverness and the 2005 National Club Pro Senior Championship at PGA Village. Bill is a teacher, player and student who takes great pride with his student’s success. One of his junior girl students, Steph Koske from Carmen-Anisworth in Flint, won the 2004 GAM Junior of Michigan award.
Bill has taught in both the Private and Public sectors and continues to travel, play and compete to learn more about the game to share with his students.
In addition to hiring Bill Baldwin, the new King Par Golf Academy plan includes increasing the practice grass areas along with adding new indoor/outdoor teaching studios. A short game facility will also be under construction to provide a first class opportunity for lessons and practice.
In addition, there will be a variety of new programs offered to all ages and skill levels. All instructors will be certified. King Par will also implement the V1 digital coaching system along with other tools to assist the students with long-term game improvement. The program will also offer Internet lesson booking which will provide the students with superior service and follow-up.
The King Par Superstore offers something for everyone. With approx. 22,000 square feet of retail space, the Superstore is packed with almost every type of golf equipment, including standard or custom clubs, bags, balls, tees, accessories, apparel, gloves, hats and shoes for every age group.
The Driving Range includes 32 covered and heated tees, an open tee area with 10 natural grass tees, a practice bunker and putting green.
