Pinehills GC (Nicklaus) is First 5-Star Course in New England

New England GolfGuide 2006 Edition has named Pinehills GC (Nicklaus) in Plymouth, MA the first-ever and only 5-star course in New England. Its sister course on the 36-hole complex, Pinehills (Jones), received an exemplary 4½-star rating.

Also receiving first-ever 4 ½-star ratings are: Crumpin Fox, The Ranch, and Taconic, all in western Massachusetts.

The ratings reflect course layout and condition, challenge and memorability of the holes, professionalism of the staff, and overall golf experience. This is the first year the New England GolfGuide has expanded its ratings above 4 stars.

The 2006 Edition features widely-expanded Course Ratings, as well as brand new Value Ratings, a way of pointing out the best courses for your dollar state-by-state.

The 544-page New England GolfGuide is on sale at major book, golf, and sporting goods stores as of today. Several courses and individually-owned stores also carry the annual, which lists all 655 courses in New England available for public play.
