THE PLAYERS Championship and PGA TOUR Contribute $2.5 Million to Charities

(Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) — THE PLAYERS Championship and the PGA TOUR raised $2.5 million for charity in 2005, money which will be distributed to more than 77 Northeast Florida charities.

The joint contributions benefit a multitude of diverse charities ranging from health and education to community youth organizations and adolescent drug treatment.

Since 1977, when THE PLAYERS Championship moved to Ponte Vedra, more than $22.5 million has been contributed to Northeast Florida charities.
