GolfStyles Carolina will be the official publication of the Carolinas PGA Section
WASHINGTON, DC – The publishers of GolfStyles, the national golf magazine with a regional focus, announced today they will enter the North and South Carolina market with GolfStyles Carolina. The premier issue will debut in March 2006 and will be published eight times per year in 2006. GolfStyles Carolina is being published in conjunction with the Carolinas PGA Section (CPGA) and will be the CPGA’s official publication.
"We are extremely excited to provide the Carolinas with a new regional publication dedicated to serving the Carolinas golf consumer," stated Michael Keating, publisher of GolfStyles. "This market is a key component to our overall growth strategy and allows us to expand our reach into one of the best golf markets in the United States."
Currently, GolfStyles has regional publications in six markets: Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New Jersey, Boston, Ohio, and Atlanta. It’s the only magazine that speaks to the demographically desired golfer in his or her market in a major-league publishing format. In addition, the magazine is mailed free to golf consumers limited to the geographic area covered by each edition.
In a special agreement, GolfStyles Carolina will be the official publication of the Carolinas PGA Section, the largest PGA Section in the United States. The members of the Carolinas PGA Section will discontinue Carolinas PGA Golfer magazine and offer their support to GolfStyles in developing an expanded reach to better serve the regional golf consumers and the Carolinas PGA professionals.
"Carolinas PGA Golfer magazine, published throughout 2005, was a vital initiative in improving our communication link with PGA members and the golf public. It enabled us to communicate our programs and ideas throughout the Carolinas in an upscale golf publication," said Robert Harper, president, Carolinas PGA Section. "However, we realized that we are not equipped to grow our magazine to the next level. As a result, we selected the GolfStyles publishing group as our publishing partner of the Carolinas PGA Section."
GolfStyles Carolina has committed to a partnership to support the Carolinas PGA Section communication initiatives. In each issue of GolfStyles Carolina, there will be 8 to 12 pages dedicated to the CPGA. Each issue will bring golf lifestyle information to all Carolina consumers, plus it will be dedicated to supporting Carolina golf courses and their PGA professionals. In addition, the editorial content for GolfStyles Carolina will concentrate on the golf-rich Carolinas, including – Carolinas PGA TOUR events, profiles of Carolinas golf courses and the grand history of golf in the Carolinas.
GolfStyles Carolina is mailed free to qualified subscribers. Initial circulation will be 40,000-plus. Individuals may sign-up for a free subscription at any Carolina PGA professional golf course or online at www.golfstyles.net.
Keating also announced the key staff to lead GolfStyles Carolina:
