Champion Plays SS-Series Three Metal
Carlsbad, California – Monday, December 12, 2005; Sonartec congratulates the winner of the Target World Challenge over the weekend. The champion tied a tournament record by posting a final-round 64 (-8) to earn his first win in the US in 2005. It was Sonartec’s 19th worldwide victory in 2005; further extending the highest single-season win total in the manufacturer’s five-year history.
The Champion played perhaps his best golf of the year in overcoming a daunting six-stroke deficit during Sunday’s final round. His total score of 272 (-16) was good for a two-stroke victory, which enabled him to walk away with a check for $1.3 million. The Champion played the same 14o SS-1.5 three metal he has played through out a season in which he has risen to #13 in the world rankings.
