Tournament Announces Plans for New Kraft Pavilion, myLEADERBOARD Service
RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIF. (Dec. 19, 2005) – Advance tickets are now on sale for the 35th anniversary of the Kraft Nabisco Championship LPGA golf tournament, set for March 27 – April 2, 2006, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif. In honor of its 35th year, Kraft Nabisco is introducing a number of new features designed to make the 35th edition of the tournament as fan-friendly as possible.
Kraft Nabisco is now offering free two-for-one ticket vouchers, available at Canyon National Bank in Palm Springs and Palm Desert. The vouchers will be given away through March 31, 2006, and can be redeemed for grounds admission tickets at the gate during Tournament Week. Free tournament posters featuring all past 25 champions are also available at Canyon National Bank while supplies last.
In addition, the Kraft Nabisco Championship will host a new "Kraft Pavilion" at this year’s tournament. The Kraft Pavilion, overlooking the 18th green of the Dinah Shore Tournament Course, will offer premier seating, food and beverage service from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and clubhouse parking. The Kraft Pavilion will be open Thursday through Sunday of Tournament Week.
Also making its debut this year is myLEADERBOARD, a handheld device for spectators offering real-time golf action and scoring, leaderboard updates, location of players on the course, individual stats for all players and other tournament-related information. According to Tamra Borson, marketing and advertising manager for Kraft Nabisco Championship, the electronic devices will be available for rent for $12 per day Thursday through Sunday of Tournament Week. The cost is $10 per day or $35 for all four days if reserved in advance with a clubhouse badge, daily grounds ticket or Kraft Pavilion package.
Other 35th anniversary plans include appearances by past Kraft Nabisco champions. To date, nearly all of the past champions have committed to attend Tournament Week festivities.
"The 35th anniversary of any event in sports would be a milestone, but especially in the world of professional golf," Borson said. "All of us at Kraft Nabisco are working very hard to make this year’s tournament the most memorable ever, and that’s why we’ve introduced a number of new features specifically with golf fans in mind."
