PORT ST. LUCIE, Florida – Golf legend Arnold Palmer and his team at Ponte Vedra Beach-based Palmer Course Design recently celebrated the official grand opening of the private 7,209-yard championship golf course at The Tesoro Club, The Ginn Co.’s premier development on Florida’s Treasure Coast.

"Creating this championship golf course at Tesoro was a joy for the Palmer team and we are thrilled to see the vision not only come to fruition, but exceed expectations," said Palmer Course Design Senior Golf Course Architect Erik Larsen. "The course appears mature and established because of the natural landscaping, which is a hallmark of The Ginn Co. This will truly be a course that golfers will enjoy time and time again."

The new Palmer-designed course at The Tesoro Club is a Par 72, 18-hole design inspired by the low-lying marshlands found just a few hours north in Savannah, Ga. The course was created around natural wetlands and showcases the beauty of the area where native grasses, plants and trees mingle with the extensive landscaping added to enhance the golf experience.

True to the Palmer design philosophy, the course at The Tesoro Club is challenging but playable for golfers of every ability level with five sets of tees at each hole. Its large greens allow for variety in pin placement, creating a new and different experience with each shot off the tee. The course is set back from the homes in the community and has an open feel with some elevation changes.

Founded on the philosophy and standards of excellence set forth by the game’s ambassador, Arnold Palmer, Palmer Course Design has created some of golf’s most memorable and awe-inspiring courses throughout the world. With nearly 300 active projects and open golf courses in 38 states and 23 countries, Palmer Course Design applies fundamental design elements to any style of course and is committed to providing a great golf experience as the company continues to develop its exciting new designs.
