TAMPA, Fla. – The Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) has announced their 2006 competitions schedule which includes more than 250 days of competition and 22 State Championships. Entries for the Championships are now open at www.fsga.org.
The 89th Florida State Amateur Championship, the oldest continuous sporting event in the state of Florida, highlights the schedule at Pine Tree Golf Club in Boynton Beach on June 22-25. Thirteen qualifiers across the state will be held between May 31 and June 12 for competitors to advance to the Championship. Hunters Run Golf and Racquet Club in Boynton Beach will serve as the second site of the Amateur with the final 36 holes to be played at Pine Tree.
The 57th Florida State Four-Ball Championship will be held July 8-9 at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor. The Copperhead Course is home to the PGA Tour’s Chrysler Championship. Eight regional qualifiers will be held between June 14-28 to determine the field.
Black Diamond Ranch in Lecanto will host the 25th Florida State Mid-Amateur Championship on September 28-October 1. The Mid-Amateur will have nine regional qualifiers from August 23 until September 1.
