Irwindale, CA—Since 1978 Aureus has been recognized as one of the top golf apparel companies in the industry. Following a strong 2005, there are fewer companies in the industry who can compete with them.
"We’re very pleased with our performance in 2005," exclaimed Aureus Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Geoff Stiles, "and it gives us tremendous confidence for even more growth in 2006."
Aureus made significant moves in 2005 as they showed a 10 percent year over year growth in their account base. They ended the fourth quarter with an outstanding growth of eight percent YOY sales in its golf division. They also increased their sales force by 25 percent to prepare for a stronger 2006. This strong anticipation enabled the company to increase their warehouse space by 12 percent to better serve the ever-increasing in-stock program.
Stiles said that plans for 2006 will better grow the golf public’s awareness of the Aureus product which should lead to yet another significant increase in sales and bottom line projections.
"In order for us to experience the sales growth we want, we have to expand the brand awareness of the golf public," he said. "Last year we doubled our budget for ad buys for the third year in a row. This was viewed as a major plus for increased sales by our retailers – both brick and mortar and green grass."
"We will continue this effort and will do even more" added Stiles. "Our plan is to bring the brand directly to the golfer. We will do this by increasing our regional golf show participation by 75 percent in 2006. By 2007, we expect to have heavily increased brand awareness and a wider customer base with the golfers of this country as well."
Stiles added that the prime reason for the company’s steady growth is the common thread that runs throughout all other plans and projections.
"Above all we will continually strive to improve the quality and design of our apparel," he said, "because that is the lifeline of our business. We always want the consumer to be proud to wear our apparel."
