LAKE MARY, FL — Five new members have been named to the International Network of Golf Advisory Board via election by the membership.

Three members are filling full three-year terms. They are Steve Asman, CEO of Gustbuster/Sunbuster in New York, George Baker, CEO of Razor Golf in Tampa, FL, and Ron Garl of Ron Garl Golf Course Design in Lakeland, FL.

Two of the elected will be filling the uncompleted terms of previous advisory board members. They are Melissa Suttles, General Manager of Mystic Dunes Golf Club in Celebration, FL, and John Johnson, President of Johnson Design Golf Marketing in Seattle, WA.

Two dozen nominees were placed on the ballot to fill the terms. ING members were asked to vote for three candidates. The vote counting was conducted by Grebe & Associates, CPA, in Illinois.

The 16-year-old International Network of Golf is a non-profit, media-based networking organization whose mission is to enhance and promote communication and education in golf. Among the many facets of ING are the ING Industry Honors, the ING Media Awards, the Dennis Walters Courage Award and the Chi Chi Rodriguez Humanitarian Award.

ING members are involved in two major conferences and other smaller gatherings each year. The ING Spring Conference brings together media and leaders from all aspects of the golf industry to discuss issues, test new products, enhance their job skills and network. This year’s event is set for May 21-25 in Pinehurst, NC. Also, the ING Fall Media Forum tackles timely issues affecting today’s golf media, and is held in conjunction with the PGA Fall Expo in Las Vegas.

ING is managed by a six-person Executive Committee, elected by the ING Advisory Board. Current E.C. consists of President Jay Hubbard, Director Marketing and PR at Tour Edge Golf; Vice President John Glozek, Editor-Publisher of Long Island Golfer; Geoff Converse, Freelance Golf Writer; John Steinbach, Senior Director Of Communications, TaylorMade-adidas Golf; Jack Bacot, Editor of Golfstyles-Carolinas; and Executive Director Mike Jamison.

The remainder of the current ING Advisory Board: Holly Geoghegan, President, Golf Marketing Services; Rick Jamison, Director/Producer, Summertime Communications; Dove Jones, President, Golf Ink; Tom Landers, Publisher, Pub Links Golfer Magazine; Mitch Laurance, President of Two Aces Productions; Tony Leodora, President, TL Golf Services; Ronnie Musselwhite, Editor, GolfStyles-Atlanta.
