Carlsbad, CA . . . Building on the success of multiple PGA TOUR victories with the Diamana® Blue Board shafts in 2005, MRC Composite Products-USA announced today the company will release another top-of-the-line product in early 2006 called Diamana Red Board. With a flex profile designed to accommodate the player who wants a more active tip section and higher trajectory, Diamana Red Board will provide a slightly different feel and shot tendency that Diamana Blue Board, but will provide the same high quality performance that PGA TOUR players have come to know and trust in the Mitsubishi Diamana name. These two complementary flex profiles will give players two high performance options to choose from to best match their swing.
Diamana Red Board, with its red surfboard shaped logo, will hit exclusive golf retailers in February of 2006. Designed with feedback from some of the world’s best players, the new Diamana Red Board delivers a powerful feeling at impact that can help maximize launch conditions for players of all abilities.
"I am very excited about this new shaft because the design gives players a feel and trajectory that is still high performance but significantly different than what the Blue Board offers" said Larry Bischmann, Director, North America for MRC Composite Products USA. "Keeping the torque value low with the right combination of a softer tip flex and a stiffer mid-section makes this a profile that will work for even the most demanding professional golfers. It is a perfect match for players who want the same materials and quality as Diamana Blue Board, but want slightly higher trajectory."
Diamana Red Board will be available in three weights: 63, 73 and 83-gram. The 63-gram is the most popular weight and is a smart choice for players with a smooth tempo who want maximum head speed off the tee. The 73 and 83-gram weights combine power, stability and also a more active tip section. Both make excellent fairway wood shafts for the player who prefers using a mid or lightweight driver shaft.
MRC manufactures all the raw materials, including the monomer, acrylic fiber, carbon fiber, resin and prepreg for Diamana Red Board, making MRC the only fully vertically integrated manufacturer in the industry. The result: a graphite shaft designed for and played by the best in the world.
