NEW YORK, NYâ?”In a thrilling sudden death victory over Vijay Singh, Stuart Appleby successfully defended his Mercedes Championship title for second straight year at the Plantation Course at Kapalua. The newly crowned "King of Kapalua" was able to close out the tournament with two birdies on the 663 yard, par 5, 18th hole – the first to finish his final round and tie Singh and the second on the first hole of sudden death to win his third consecutive Mercedes Championship.
