Wilson Sign Up For Show

January 13, 2006

Less than a month after securing two of the world’s leading golf club manufacturers the London Golf Show has signed up another.

Hot on the heels of Mizuno and Nike, Wilson has become the latest company to sign up for the 2006 London Golf Show.

But not only has Wilson committed to returning to ExCeL, London, in April, it has also more than doubled the size of its presence.

At the 2006 event Wilson will have two driving bays on the indoor range, one of which will include a launch monitor to aid with club fitting.

In addition, Wilson will be custom fitting its Kirk Currie putters on the show’s main putting green, giving visitors the chance to try its adjustable weight system, BalanceFit, which aims to provide precision putting regardless of green conditions.

Rick Hazelden, UK marketing Wilson Golf, said: "Coming back to the London Golf Show was not a difficult decision to make. Last year’s event had a huge footfall and gave us a great chance to interact with core golfers.

"It’s a unique opportunity to get our products in consumer’s hands and this year we’ll also be demonstrating our fully-customisable range of Kirk Currie putters.

"We’re really looking forward to this year’s show and I’m sure it’s going to go from strength to strength."

Andy Barwell, the London Golf Show’s marketing director, said: "To have secured so many top brands for the 2006 show already speaks volumes.

"We’re delighted to have Wilson onboard and it is the latest big name to commit to what is going to be an even better event than last year."

One of the star attractions to the thousands of visitors who flocked to Docklands last April proved to be the ‘floating green’ moored in the Victoria Dock. This year even more golfers will be able to experience it with organisers saying the 2006 show will have ‘multiple floating greens’.

And there will be more driving-range bays, giving golf-mad visitors the chance to try out the latest cutting-edge golf equipment.

Direct Golf UK has also confirmed it will be at the show in April, and will provide the biggest golf shop in Europe for the second year running.
