PACOIMA, Calif. – Harrison has added a new ultra premium shaft to its already impressive family of graphite shafts. The Mugen, new for 2006, is the result of extensive research and development that has yielded a super strong and extremely powerful graphite shaft that is crafted from the finest of new technologically advanced materials. Harrison’s ingenuity in the creation of this super shaft will give them one of the most sought after shafts for the year.
"Harrison Shafts have been steadily increasing in popularity among the players on the Tour and custom club makers over the last few years. This is the shaft that is going to put that popularity in overdrive," says Michael Cheng, president of Harrison Sports. "The golf industry has not seen the kind of advanced technology that went into the development of this shaft before. The Mugen’s lighter weight prepreg, stronger tip and high performance capabilities are what the golf industry has been looking for in a great golf shaft."
The Mugen features the fusion of Ultra Thin Ply (UTP) prepreg – a thin and flat sheet of graphite fiber bonded epoxy resin weighing only 50-70 grams per square meter as opposed to typical graphite that can weigh in excess of 150 grams – and satellite grade graphite fiber. This reduces the weight of the shaft, thus allowing for higher swing speed and more consistent power shot after shot. Single Walled Carbon Nanotubes are embedded in the tip section of the shaft to further strengthen and enhance its durability and performance. The Mugen’s low torque and high stiffness contrast between its tip and butt promotes the high launch/low spin characteristic highly sought after by better golfers. The shaft comes in 62, 72 and 82-grams all with a 46-inch length and 2.8 degrees of torque.
Designed and manufactured from the finest in graphite, titanium and boron materials, Harrison shafts are among the top five of the most-used graphite shafts in the world. Technologically superior and eye-catching in appearance, Harrison has become a popular and growing choice among professionals, club makers and golf enthusiasts. Harrison shafts are available from more than 1,000 dealers across the United States.
