Business Unit to Recruit New Retailers, Reps, and Distributors
January 16, 2006–Carlsbad, CA—Sonartec’s new TRION:Z business unit will be officially launching its new ionic/magnetic product line Jan 26-29 at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida. Trion:Z products will be displayed with Sonartec at the show in Booth #2901.
Trion:Z will be launched as a separate business unit and will be recruiting sales representatives, retailers and international distributors at the show. "Though we will have a large amount of overlap between Sonartec and Trion:Z with our sales network, we will also have many holes to fill in areas where sales reps may have conflicting lines or too many lines to effectively represent us" said Sonartec Vice President and Trion:Z CEO Jim Uno. "The product line also affords us the ability to sell through high-end pro shops and resorts that might not typically do much hard goods business."
According to Uno, though the product is new to the United States, it has been highly successful in Japan, where it has been sold for six years and experienced more than 500% growth last year. Sonartec has been testing the waters here in the US, where they did a pilot program with Edwin Watts Golf.
Edwin Watts jumped onto the Trion:Z bandwagon early, and included the product in their holiday catalog issue which dropped during early November, and has seen tremendous success for the new line. "Trion:Z has exceeded our expectations from our holiday catalog sales." said Edwin Watts Buyer, Steve Claude. "Our retail stores had customers bringing in their catalogs asking for the product and we expect to see great success in our retail stores as well".
In addition to the tremendous potential of the standard product line, Trion:Z officials expect even greater excitement for the customization potential of the products. "We have been in discussions with numerous companies for corporate logo products, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive" says Uno. "We see all companies as potential customers and allies. People that we have competed with on the golf club side of the business are potential customers and business partners in the Trion:Z venture. This opens doors that we never imagined two years ago."
The first corporate customer of Trion:Z is graphite shaft manufacturer Aldila, who ordered TRION:Z in custom colors with the Aldila NV Logo and will have some units at the show. Uno states "It’s exciting to have a product that helps us build the brand for both our customer and ourselves. We see these as great branding opportunities for our corporate customers and money making opportunities for our resort pro shops".
Trion:Z products, marketed in Japan under the Colantotte brand are the leading Magnetic/Ionic products targeted to the athletic market. Trion:Z products feature minus ion and magnet technologies to provide benefits to consumers who are physically active or are exposed to positive ions from computers, cell phones, electrical machinery and other tools of modern urban living. Positive ions are associated with a number of symptoms including fatigue, lack of concentration, headache, nausea, joint and muscle pain, and other discomforts. The minus ions in Trion:Z products counteract the positive ions at rates twenty to fifty times that of other ion products. Trion:Z products also feature medical grade magnets in a patented Alternating North-South Polarity Orientation (ANSPO) that greatly increases the Magnetic Field Flow of the devices.
