Zelocity Sponsors Junior Golf Event At Kiawah Island

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (Jan. 13, 2006) — Zelocity Golf Perfomance Monitors sponsored the Zelocity Lowcountry Junior Classic golf tournament this past weekend at Kiawah Island, S.C. The event was conducted on the Osprey Course and Turtle Course, and is the beginning of the year-long Plantations Junior Golf Tour, of which Zelocity is a sponsor.

Zelocity distributes portable golf performance monitors for outdoor or indoor use, employing sophisticated radar technology for providing measurements and calculations.

"The PureFlight by Zelocity has been a wonderful addition to our tour this season," said Director of Marketing for the Plantation Junior Golf Tournament Thad Daber. "The juniors love to see their golf metrics such as club speed, ball speed and distance. They especially enjoy the power-transfer-ratio reading, which provides feedback on how solidly they struck the ball. It is an excellent tool that teaches the juniors the importance of hitting the ball with a square clubface rather than with a faster club head speed."

Daber is facing the same challenge that is being faced by many outlets around the country that are utilizing Zelocity’s launch monitors.

"Our biggest challenge is keeping the PureFlight in stock to meet the demand of the juniors and their parents," said Daber.

PureFlight, is one of three models sold by Zelocity. The latest is the PureContact, geared toward the individual golfer and prices at $395. By utilizing it on the practice range, the PureContact will help determine what club you need to hit that target. It instantly and accurately displays and records your ball speed, total distance, and total carry distance using Doppler radar. No adjustments between clubs needed. Retailing for only $395, it’s the size of an iPod, and weighs less than one pound, requires only a 9v battery. Just set it down and start swinging.

Zelocity is best known for its PureLaunchâ?¢ and PureFlightâ?¢ ball flight monitors and for pioneering radar-based ball flight monitor technologies. Zelocity ball flight monitors are accurate, affordable portable and easy to use. They are used worldwide by major OEMs, instructors, club fitters, tour pros, college golf teams and avid golfers. Zelocity products have been sold in over twenty-five countries.
