North of 90 Golf Reintroduces Unique Ball
COLLEGEVILLE, PA (January 17, 2006) – The new Polara golf ball, which reduces hooks and slices by more than 50 percent, returns to golf’s largest business event later this month with the promise of bringing a smile to the face of recreational golfers everywhere.
North of 90 Golf will showcase the Polara’s self-correcting and smile-inducing capabilities at the New Product Center at the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show and Convention, January 26 to January 29 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. Thanks to its unique dimple design, the Polara reduces a golfer’s hooks and slices by more than 50 percent. The result is players spend more time in the fairway and less time in the woods.
North of 90 Golf reintroduced the Polara in July 2005, more than 20 years after the ball disappeared from the golf market. The Polara is now available at www.northof90.com and at select golf shops in the U.S. North of 90 General Manager Andy Gesek said the company hopes to finalize additional retail distribution deals at the PGA Show.
"We are very excited by the chance to talk with thousands of the golf industry’s most influential decision makers," Gesek said. "Our customers have told us they love the Polara. We know show attendees will feel the same way after visiting with us."
The Polara will be featured in the show’s New Product Center, or Hot Zone, home to more than 350 companies exhibiting the latest innovations in the golf industry. North of 90 Golf will be at Booth 2045 with the "PolaraMobile," a Volkswagen Beetle wrapped as a golf ball, anchoring the company’s exhibit.
Designed for recreational golfers, the dimples of the Polara are shallower at its poles than at the center of the ball. The shallow dimples reduce sidespin, meaning the ball straightens in flight. Testing at a nationally recognized golf laboratory showed the Polara reduced hooks and slices by more than 50 percent and still played as long as balls from major leading brands.
Organized in partnership with The PGA of America, the 2006 PGA Merchandise Show will host more than 45,000 PGA Professionals, retailers and industry leaders to preview the products and services of more than 1,200 golf-related exhibitors at the Orange County Convention Center.
