Golfers looking to fine tune their putting stroke and hone all of its 28 different parameters should pay a visit to St Andrews Links Trust’s booth at the PGA Merchandise Show next week.
The Links Trust booth (No 10632) will be staging a demonstration of the Science & Motion PuttLab system at 10am and 4pm each day from Thursday, 26 January to Saturday, 28 January.
The demonstration will be given by the Director of Coaching at St Andrews Links Golf Academy, Steve North, a PGA Golf Management professional who formerly worked with David Leadbetter at his academy in Malaysia.
St Andrews Links Trust is the organisation which preserves and maintains the world famous Old Course and the other five Links courses at the Home of Golf.
PuttLab will be part of the suite of cutting edge golf technology which is being introduced at the Golf Academy in St Andrews when it opens in April. The ultrasound system gives feedback on 28 different parameters of the putting stroke including path, loft at impact, centredness of strike, clubface angle and club head rotation.
Delegates at the PGA Merchandise Show, which runs from 26-29 January at the Orange County Convention Centre in Orlando, Florida, are being offered free short sessions on PuttLab receiving advice from Steve and the chance to win a prize for the best overall putting stroke.
Peter Mason, external relations manager at the Links Trust, said, "This is a wonderful opportunity for people to test their putting skills at the same time as finding out more about arranging visits to the Home of Golf. We will be offering advice and providing information about the packages available to play golf at St Andrews such as the Reverse Play and Winter Packages and how to book golf online through our Linksnet system. Our staff will be very happy to meet with anyone at the show who would like to discuss playing golf at St Andrews Links and the latest developments here."
Adjoining the Links Trust booth will be the St Andrews Golf Development Group. The group brings together the key golf operators of the ten courses in St Andrews, including Kingsbarns, the Duke’s and the Torrance and the Devlin as well as the Links courses. Under the theme, "Less travel, more golf" the group will be promoting the central booking service for all of the courses which can be reached on +44 1334 474799 or by e-mail at bookings@standrewsgolf.org.
