The First-Of-Its-Kind Collection Caters To Fashion Conscious Active Women
NEW YORK (January 1, 2005) -Today it was announced that Verdina, a new sophisticated and versatile women’s golf apparel company, will officially launch at the 2006 January PGA Merchandise Trade Show. Verdina is unprecedented clothing line which melds modern fashion with the functionality of sports apparel. The announcement was made by company CEO and President Dana Coppolino.
Created by top executives in the fashion industry, this innovative and modern collection breaths new life into women’s golf apparel. "Our line is inspired by a lifestyle," said Coppolino. "It’s the resort/country club lifestyle which accommodates the avid female golfer and even someone who has never stepped foot on a golf course will appreciate the design and fit of the line. It’s clothing that was missing for fashion conscious women with an active lifestyle."
Verdina, meaning "little green" in Italian, was thoughtfully crafted with style and femininity to provide a refined alternative for female golfers. The Verdina collection has a modern and sophisticated color palate, complimenting the lifestyle of any woman.
"Each piece has a careful attention to detail as well as fit and functionality," said Designer Nicole Elizabeth. "Cuts are fashionable, flattering and still very sport-appropriate."
Signature pieces in the line include bias cut and drop waisted dresses inspired by vintage golf apparel. Special details such as dropped plackets, distinctive trims, and functioning embellishments contribute to this cutting-edge line. Embellishments never before seen on women’s golf apparel include: pant legs which roll up and button to capri length; hidden side seam zipper pockets; ball sized patch pockets; tabs to insert tees and d-rings for clipping things onto.
"The Verdina collection targets women 18 to 40+ and pricing is competitive," said SVP of Sales and Marketing Melissa Maundrell. "The versatility of the line allows our customers to comfortably wear the clothing both on and off the course, which broadens our reach."
The collection is scheduled to be available in specialty stores and resorts across the country by June 2006.
