Irwindale, CA—Aureus and Winner Mate Sportswear, industry leaders in golf apparel since 1978 have appointed former National Sales Manager Geoffrey M. Stiles to the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing, effective immediately.
"The Aureus brand is stronger than ever," said Stiles of his appointment. "I have been with the company for the past 16 years and have been proud to have been a part of their growth and success."
Stiles started with Aureus as a regional salesman and steadily climbed the company ladder to the level of National Sales Manager, a position he served in for the past three years.
During Stiles term as National Sales Manager, Aureus took on a more aggressive strategy to provide PGA professionals with a reasonably priced, quality product they could profit from. Since 2002 after its "re-launch", Stiles has established 9,800 accounts including green grass, off-course, corporate and high-end men’s retail.
Stiles also became actively involved in designing the product line from a salesman’s viewpoint versus pure marketing. "We’re dedicated to time-tested styles and a quality product," said Stiles. "We’re here to make money for our retailers and pros."
In an effort to be different, Aureus has come out with what Stiles calls "fancy basics."
The Gel Print is a 60s two-ply double mercerized solid shirt using gel ink. The ink is transparent so the print is very subtle. Technicool is a moisture management product that Stiles refers to as a "tech shirt" with a mercerized look. Silk camp shirts will be introduced in the Spring collection.
The new Aureus brand is focused on creating the best quality garment for the most competitive price.
"Without a doubt the company is headed in an extremely positive direction," said Stiles. "I’m confident that we will have even more dynamic growth in overall sales and brand awareness. Our last three shipments have sold out and we’re looking forward to the same success for 2006."
