DMI Creates Alliance With Top PGA Teaching Professional

Partnership with Rob Akins will bring new instruction products to market and create a broader product portfolio

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – Datrek Miller International, Inc. (DMI), a leading supplier of products and value-added services to the golf industry, (OTC Bulletin Board: DMLL.OB) has created a strategic alliance with world-renowned PGA teaching Professional Rob Akins (Spring Creek Ranch Golf Club—Collierville, Tenn.).

As part of this mutually beneficial relationship, Akins will provide DMI with innovative and effective golf improvement products to bring to market while helping the company create similar relationships with other leading golf instructors. In return, Akins will have access to DMI’s distribution channel expertise for the instructional aids he has developed.

"Our strategic goal is to service multiple distribution channels with a wide selection of products and services representing a multitude of different brands," said Hedge. "This deal helps us diversify and expand our product portfolio for both our on and off course channels and to offer a new category of products called "I improved". DMI is focused on being the best in the golf industry at servicing the distribution channels. Rob’s passion is to be the best teacher by providing golfers with the best instruction and/or products possible. He is always working on some new visual or training device to help his students improve," added Hedge.

Like many elite-level golf teachers, Akins has developed various tools and training aids to help his students, including a soon-to-be-introduced revolutionary "laser" putting training tool. The "laser" putter has been utilized by several touring professionals over the past year but now Rob will be offering the putter to all golfers of different skill levels in an upcoming infomercial. He is also the co-other of Golf’s Red Zone, a book focused on improving the reader’s game within 100 yards of the hole. With DMI, Akins now has a reputable company with over 6,000 points of sale through which to market and sell his products.

"I’m very excited about the potential of this relationship," said Akins. "There are a lot of great golf products out there but obviously you have to have a way to sell them. DMI provides me with a customer base and a sales force that very few companies can offer. They provide me with a way to effectively market my products because of their expertise in channel distribution."

DMI hopes that Akins’ colleagues will see the value in such an alliance and sign on for similar deals.

"Many of the top-tier golf teachers have created unique products for the golf market but don’t have either the time or money, and they don’t have access to multiple distribution channels. We can use our unique distribution model to do this while also helping them create and leverage their personal brand," added Hedge.

Akins is recognized as one of the top golf instructors in the world through his work with notable players including David Toms, last week’s winner at the Sony Open in Hawaii, Loren Roberts, Hal Sutton, Shawn Micheel, and others. He is also consistently recognized on the Top 50 Teachers lists by Golf Digest and Golf Magazine and writes exclusively for Golf Digest as a member of its Pro Pane
