Women’s SP-6 Hits Market February 1, 2006
BEAVERTON, Ore. (January 19, 2006 ) – In answer to Nike Tour Staff member Grace Park’s inspiration, Nike Golf has developed a stunning golf shoe for women, the new Nike Golf Women’s SP-6 (SRP: $130.00).
Due in stores on February 1, the SP-6 not only will turn heads with its striking style but also will keep women who wear them grounded — literally. Park, a six-time winner on the LPGA Tour and a Nike Golf Tour staff member since 2003, has been working with Nike Golf in fulfilling her desire for technology that would help keep her feet on the ground longer through her golf swing. And, in her Grace-like style, she also wanted to maintain a true sense of fashion and style that would compliment her Nike Golf apparel. Thus, the SP-6 for women was created and with it comes new technology that is vital to the success of the golf swing.
"I’m very excited about the results of the women’s SP-6," said Park. "It’s comfortable, it’s stylish and has the technology I was looking for to help me with my golf swing. And, you can wear these shoes anywhere because they look good and they are so comfortable."
Park and Nike Golf worked together on the design of the shoe and the creation of the tools to achieve Park’s goals. In so doing, Nike Golf created the new T@C (traction at contact) spikeless outsole technology that incorporates flex grooves integrated with traction elements. This keeps feet on the ground longer through the golf swing, providing an exceptional grip and maximum flexibility. The horizontal grooves provide normal flex for walking and the longitudinal grooves allow for more flexibility while shifting weight during the golf swing.
The lightweight Women’s SP-6 includes Sympatex technology, which is waterproof and breathable, bringing the ultimate in comfort and protection against the elements. Its premium soft and supple full-grain leather provides outstanding comfort, protection and support. A visible heel Air-Sole unit combined with external and internal Phylon midsoles, provide lightweight cushioning and comfort for the life of the shoe. The full-length Poron sockliner won’t break down over time and molds to the contour of the foot.
This fashionable and technological stunner has a 2-year limited waterproof warranty / 45-day limited comfort warranty and comes in two color combinations: the pearl/aluminum/white and white/pearl bronze.
