FORT PIERCE, Florida (Thursday, January 26, 2006): Two Florida golf courses grassed tee-to-green with SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum were named to Travel & Leisure Golf’s list of America’s Top 100 Golf Communities. The January 2006 issue of the magazine named Old Palm Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens and Tuscany Reserve in Naples to the prestigious list.
In compiling the list, the editors of T&L Golf "began with the premise that the golf needed to be great: top course designs, impeccable maintenance, easy access for members." Of the Top 100 selected for this honor, the editors noted those that made the list offer "extraordinary golf, a great location, attention to detail and paradigm-shifting service."
Old Palm was designed by Raymond Floyd. Tuscany Reserve is a joint design between Pete Dye and Greg Norman. Both Old Palm and Tuscany Reserve are developed by one of Florida’s finest luxury developers, WCI Communities.
SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum is known as an innovative, environmentally friendly turfgrass for use on golf courses. It requires up to 50% less water for irrigation than the bermudagrasses traditionally used on warm-season golf courses. It also requires approximately 75% less nitrogen for fertilization than bermudagrass. In addition, SeaDwarf may be irrigated with nearly any quality water, from potable to effluent, even seawater under proper maintenance.
SeaDwarf Seashore Paspalum is available through Environmental Turf and its network of certified licensed growers. Please contact Environmental Turf for more information at: www.environmentalturf.com or 772-460-5575.
