McLean, VA /Richmond, VA (January 31, 2006) – Octagon today announced the signing of ladies professional golfer Christina Kim to a full representation agreement. One of the LPGA’s most energetic young players, Kim is coming off a career-best season in 2005 in which she was a member of the victorious U.S. Solheim Cup team and notched her second career title at The Mitchell Company Tournament of Champions.
"We are excited to work with such a talented player like Christina," says Giff Breed, Octagon’s Managing Director of Golf. "Her excitement and passion for the game of golf is tremendous."
A native of San Jose, CA, Kim, 21, posted a total of six top-10 finishes in 2005 and recorded a solid 2-1-1 record in her first Solheim Cup appearance. In 2005, Kim ranked second on the Tour in birdies (330) and shot her second career hole-in-one at the Weetabix Women’s British Open. In 2004, Kim recorded her first career Tour victory at the Longs Drugs Challenge where she carded all four rounds in the 60s. She joined the LPGA Tour in 2002 after finishing the previous year second on the Futures Tour money list. As an amateur, Kim set the USGA record for the lowest score in a USGA competition with a 62 in the 2001 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship.
"I am thrilled to work with Octagon," said Kim. "The agency has a tremendous track record managing the careers of professional athletes; in particular they have excelled at representing female athletes."
