The full 2006 European Challenge Tour Schedule has been released and, once again, the Challenge Tour Members are being offered a full and comprehensive range of tournaments, including seven new events and the largest prize fund for a Challenge Tour event in the tour’s 18 year history, as the race for The 2007 European Tour comes into full swing.
With new tournaments in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Scotland and Switzerland, as well as the â?åÂ300,000 Kazakhstan Open, the 2006 Schedule reflects the Challenge Tour’s continuing evolution as European golf’s most fertile breeding for aspiring professionals looking to fulfill their hopes of winning a place on The European Tour via the top 20 places on the Challenge Tour Rankings.
With two events (The VIP Abierto Mexicano de Golf and the 100th Abierto Visa de la Republica Argentina) already played, the race for the 2006 Rankings resumes this week at the Guatemala Open from February 2-5.
From there the Challenge Tour will continue its global journey with stops in Europe, Africa and Asia, with the season set to finish in October at the stunning San Domenico Golf in Savallettri, Italy, at the Apulia San Domenico Grand Final, where the top 20 players of 2006 will be determined and awarded with potentially priceless places on The 2007 European Tour International Schedule.
