For the second straight week, winners on both the PGA and Champions Tours wear CHAMP spikes.
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. January 31, 2006 – When the Buick Invitational headed for the second hole of a sudden-death playoff, it was obvious that the momentum would continue to build for CHAMP. Both of the remaining contenders were wearing CHAMP Spikes. In fact, when the dust settled, for the second consecutive week, the winners on both the PGA TOUR and the Champions Tour wore CHAMP spikes.
Both the champion and one of the runners-up in the three-man playoff at the Buick Invitational in La Jolla, Calif. were wearing CHAMP spikes. The winner was wearing the 6mm CHAMP Cer-Mec spikes while the runner-up chose the CHAMP Stingerâ?¢. A total of 34 golfers in the field were wearing CHAMP Stingers this weekend.
In the Champions Tour Turtle Bay Championship, the winner again wore CHAMP marking the second consecutive win for CHAMP spikes on the senior circuit as well.
With four wins in the last two weeks on the two men’s tours, it is obvious that CHAMP is picking up where it left off in 2005. Last season 24 winners on the PGA TOUR wore CHAMP spikes.
